Swiftamine

If anyone could use Swiftamine, I think it's AJ. The craziest thing happened this morning! We always have the radio on in the mornings and of course they play basically the same 5 songs everyday. I was in the hallway using the mirror and AJ was in the bedroom but I really don't think he knew I was there (out of sight but really close) because I heard him start to sing along to the Taylor Swift song on and it was jaw-droppingly shocking, haha! He rarely sings along and definitely not to Taylor Swift. I called him out on it and he yelled at me saying it's not his fault it was catchy and he always gets all of my Taylor Swift and Moana songs stuck in his head lolololol.



That's all, just a once in a lifetime experience.

Wedding Work

This weekend was our first crazy schedule of wedding events, which was a round of 3 venue visits. We then went to the mall to get some shoes for AJ and kill some time before going ot my cousin's to celebrate her daughters 1st birthday!

We got home late and exhausted. On Sunday I went to brunch with a coworker and we each had half a bottle of champagne and dessert, plus I got Anana her own food (spoiled pup!) and then went home to clean the apartment. AJ and I watched Baby Driver (what a great movie! So original and good!) and I did some reading and didn't get to bed until midnight.

Doing wedding stuff is so cray cray. On the one hand I'm like this is so surreal I can't even believe it's happening. You're planning so hard out and it feels forever away. And then you're also like omg this is flying by, slow down and let me catch my breath!

First Day of Basic

Happy First day of fall! My favorite season. AJ says that makes me basic, but I don't even like pumpkin spice lattes. Yesterday it was crisp and cool and it felt like the weather turned, and it was even raining in the morning. I went to bed cold and needed an extra blanket. I loved it.

In other news, if you have been thinking to yourself that it's been a long time since I've done something completely random that is ridiculous and probably something I way too past my prime for doing... well I started up again!

Last Wednesday was my first tap class of my life LOLOLOL.My coworker and I decided to sign up for an adult beginner tap class and boy is this a treat. Being in a dance studio again was a trip since I used to live in them in middle school and part of high school, and being on this side of it was crazy. But we had a lot of fun!

Engagement ♥ Heart ♥ Bubbles

I cringe to be that girl, but then again I don't, because I really am so very happy and excited and it's a once in a lifetime experience, and I want to remember this fun stage of life and after everything I've done, it's not all that common to have such a new experience anymore!

It's so fun being engaged. I remember hearing once "it's like dating on steroids" and I'd say that's accurate. I do feel different. The night we got engaged I told AJ "I finally feel like an adult." It's felt like the most adult thing I've done and I guess I finally feel like I crossed that threshold.

I love my ring. Not only do I just love the style and what AJ picked out, but I love having an engagement ring. I love seeing it and watching it sparkle after I clean it and catching it's silhouette in everyday things like while I'm typing at the keyboard or driving in the car or cooking in the kitchen. I know it's so cheesy and ridiculous, but I've become so cynical in life, it's kinda fun to feel the simple joy in something.

Also, people have been wonderful to me and AJ. So many wishes and encouragement, and yesterday I came home to find a surprise delivery from Chrishon in DC...

an engagement wine glass and the Broke-Ass Bride's Wedding Guide! You have no idea how handy that book will be, I'm so excited. Has anyone looked at what a wedding costs these days? It's infuriatingly expensive, especially for such an artificial market. I'm not even convinced we're going to have a wedding still. Who can afford all that for one day?! But, ah well, what else is new?

Engagement Party!

After announcing our engagement, our parents wanted to see us and celebrate, and we decided to throw it all into one, so AJ and I had a mini engagement party with our immediate families yesterday, Saturday September 9. It was low-key, just a nice dinner altogether with some fun desserts and champagne!

It's crazy it's all so real! I guess the next step is actually planning the wedding although don't hold your breath too much - my gawd is it expensive and venue searching is cray cray! Thank God I only plan on getting married once...!
