Sophie's First Valentine's

This past week had both Sophie's first Valentine's Day, and AJ's birthday! (AJ spent his birthday playing golf, so it was really just another day for me and Soph, and I couldn't even really make a cake or any fun things since we're still doing Whole30).

I know I've posted this photo everywhere, but it cracks me up too much not to put on the blog too. Her comedic timing is great, I'm sure she still wants to be the next Taylor Swift and make us lots of money...

My mom was able to be with us this weekend, which was really nice since Sophie hasn't had much socialization really at all outside of the doctors, so that was something.

We spent Valentine's Day out at a lakeside park, serenaded by the sounds of Taylor Swift from the gaggle of college girls picnicking near us with what I think was solely wine.

Otherwise we hung out around the house, watched Saturday Night Live, cooked Whole 30 and keto-approved meals and napped (or was that just me?)

Bedtime stories

Family picture. Less Khaleesi. Oh well.

My sweet baby who apparently only
looks like her father

Tummy time with the under the sea
mat from Auntie Jayna

A frequent sighting in our household

She was subjected to me singing and dancing along
to the Mulan soundtrack, which you can see she
politely ignored and instead watched AJ cook

She always puts her hands up behind
her head to fall asleep

We're off our schedule and all confused (especially with Monday being both AJ's birthday and a holiday) but we're working on getting re-acclimated again. Oh and I officially only have a month left of maternity leave waaaaaah!

Happy 3 Months

Today is a huge milestone, because Sophie is 3 months old and we've survived the "fourth trimester" newborn phase and have ourselves a right baby! It really feels like it too - she's chubby and babbly and interactive, so it's a nice phase to be in. In some ways I feel like she was barely born, and in other ways I feel like, haven't I been dealing with this for years now??

Here are a few updates...

Propped up all sweetly in bed

Looking up at the birdies above her swing

When she hit 12 weeks! Notice how babies
are like mini snowmen? They don't have necks,
just a fat head on their fat body

PTFO

She loves to sleep with both hands
behind her head... like this

Exhibit B

Looking cute on her kick piano, per usual

Here's how Khaleesi feels about Sophie

Sophie and my grandfather. I see a resemblance, AJ says he doesn't. Welp.

This photo of her on the right post-eating and trying
to get a burp out reminded me of her 3-D Ultrasound photo

Playing at a play gym

3 Month Photo!

Growing with her llama

Gosh, I can't believe how sweet she looks in "real" clothes. We've been too lazy to really get creative with clothing. I mean, what's more convenient than the onesie, and we don't go anywhere, and to be fair, we didn't have a lot of cute creative newborn clothes, but I'm going to have to start playing dress up with her now that she's bigger!

Here are two videos of her and her life...

Watch the way she wiggles and shakes at 0:03! Cracks me up every time

For the record, I recognize these videos are probably boring to anyone not her parent, buuuut this is all my life is now. Although it was the Super Bowl yesterday and even though the dumb Buccaneers won, AJ won the square for third quarter and fourth quarter and so, by extension, so did I! Also, that Edgar Scissorhands commercial slayed me. I also enjoyed the Wayne's World one, and the M&Ms one. There is still some hope left for Super Bowl commercials...
