Four Month Appointment

Well, we're behind on Sophie's appointments (through no fault of our own - thanks Kaiser for all the rescheduling!) and I've had to make AJ go in with her because I can't bear seeing her get shots. Today was rough and I was traumatized from it and I didn't even see it happen. Good news is that she's doing great!

Pam was admitted to the hospital last night to be induced, and it got me and AJ reminiscing on Sophie's birth. We went through our phones of all our pictures and I found a lot on AJ's phone that I had never seen.

I swear this was like the first week home

PTFO!

So cute! She used to have all these
little baby expressions like this that
she seems to be losing as she grows up

This puzzle was my happy place during
the holidays! This was usually how I'd unwind
during my time off from watching her... playing
the Evermore album on my phone and working
on that puzzle. But occasionally I'd need to still
watch Sophie a time or two while working on it

Just being a baby

If you knew how paranoid I am about
sleeping with her on me or holding me,
you'd understand how desperate and
exhausted and tired I must have been
in this picture to do that

You can see Nannerz is still second baby
the way she's around with us everywhere

And we gave her a bath last night. Nothing is cuter than my naked little baby!

Bathtime gets increasingly more fun. She's loved the bath ever since the second time, and she continues to get more present and aware and like to splash and loves her little octopus bath toy (which was a gift from Uncles Raf and Rob) but full disclosure: the octopus only has 6 legs. That should be illegal, especially for children's toys when you're trying to teach them!

Back to Work

Today is my first day back to work (remotely) and so far it literally could not have gone better. Sophie ate early and then slept for awhile, so AJ and I had the easiest start to our morning. Feeding the pets, putting dishes away, making breakfast and coffee and getting settled into work completely at ease. My boss is great and allowing me this week to just catch up on emails and get settled in, so no meetings or commitments just yet, which is a huge relief.

Instead of being upset I can't focus 100% on Sophie anymore, I'm actually enjoying getting back into work, talking to coworkers I've missed and balancing work and watching her with AJ, and being very thankful that we're still working remote and can have her home with us for awhile instead of going to daycare. So, I'll try to remember this, especially during the days that it will inevitably be much more challenging! But, fingers crossed, we really have ended with the four-month sleep regression and are on the other side of it, like it seems. Very optimistic over here! And it doesn't hurt that I can turn around and this is my cute view:

In some very sad, sobering news, I found out this morning that one of our friends passed away last night. He has been battling leukemia since he was in college, and it was obvious that he wasn't doing that great lately, but it was still a little unexpected, and incredibly heartbreaking because he leaves behind two little girls, a 3 year old and a 5 month old.

We will miss you Boss ♥

My Second COVID Birthday

Enough about how old Sophie is, let's talk about me! I had my birthday yesterday and it was my second quarantine birthday. Can you believe that? Last year on my birthday was the first day that Disneyland shut down and really, that everything did, so I wasn't really able to do anything, except get a birthday donut. Oh we also went out to eat (last time for a year, little did we know!) and AJ bought me my dance game for my Switch!

This year, AJ made me breakfast and my villagers on Animal Crossing threw me a birthday party! I thoroughly enjoyed that. AJ gave me birthday present, which I was really excited about. For Christmas he got me a Tiffany's bracelet that we had engraved with my initials, and for my birthday he bought me a charm to go on it. It's a sterling silver birthday candle with a gold flame and Tiffany blue swirls. I love it!

Yes I took pictures. That's how much joy it brought me

We watched some Schitt's Creek while Sophie napped and then we headed out to downtown Disney. I was so excited because it was the perfect opportunity for her to be able to wear her polar bear pram suit. Can you even deal with how adorable this is? I cannot.

What an adventure that was. It was about an hour wait to get in, although it didn't feel that bad since the line really never stopped moving. Kathleen met us there and we got to walk around in the Disney spirit, visit a few stores, take pictures, and have lunch at the Jazz Kitchen (one of my favorite restaurants!) We lucked out having Kathleen join us because she was able to take some really great photos.

After that, we stopped by Starbucks for me to get my free birthday drink, and then we went home to my ice cream cake! My one request this year LOL.

Sophie had a really busy day so she was out, and then we got to stay up and read. My God what treasured times these are now.

And because I can't resist, here are some more pictures of my kute kute baby!

This is legit how she sleeps

Her llama and her Hei Hei!

Just being a doll

March 15 is always such a sad day in my book. I miss my bday! Captain's Log: 364 days...

International Women's Day

What a perfect day to showcase Sophie's meeting her great-grandma this past Saturday. (Imagine being born in 1917 and still alive and meeting your great-grandkids in 2021!)

We did get a picture of all 4 generations, and against my better judgment with how awful I look, it's pretty special so may as well document it.

#newmominquarantinewithvaccinesideeffectslife

I got my second shot of the vaccine on Friday and Saturday, early morning and afternoon was absolutely miserable. It sucked not knowing how long it would last, but knowing it was an vaccine side effect that was sure to pass was comforting, and it was gone in less than half a day.

Other than that, little Miss Sophie is now 4 months old today! No real rolling or anything just, just a more alert, happy playful growing baby on our end. Oh except she's started insisting on holding the bottle herself which is cute, but makes the whole process annoyingly long and frustrating haha

All by herself! (For 2 seconds)

...and that's the tea.

It's March!

I'm not really sure what the point of this blog is anymore when I have nothing to say or update it with and it's not even a mommy blog and rather just a photo dump of Sophie, but I feel like I've kept it up this long, I can't stop now.

I binged The Morning Show on AppleTV+ this weekend (it was excellent), looking forward to my Tuesday morning Bachelor episode tomorrow, and have been very invested in reading The Count of Monte Cristo when I have the time (which isn't often, but I usually read a chapter each night before bed, even if I'm exhausted because it really is that good!)

We picked up copies of Sophie's birth certificate today and the outing felt magical.

100% AJ Face!

Khaleesi can't catch any of the birds we've been
attracting with our bird feeder, so she just chatters
at them from the inside

The amount of outfits we haven't been able to have her wear (because we go nowhere and do nothing) is criminal, but I'm glad that we got photos of her in this adorable outfit that Cousin Lisa and her family sent as a gift.
