Eleven Week Update

Another week,... another week. Nothing new around here. Still in quarantine, still on maternity leave, still nothing going on. This is my life now. The only difference is my obsession with The Bachelor now (20 years late!) and reigniting my skills on original Nintendo's Mario 3 via my Switch. And of course, little Sophie Bee, who is 2 1/2 months now. I guess it's safe to say that if you aren't interested in baby pictures, this blog will no longer be for you, since that's all I have going on in my life now.

I spend my days with my happy little girl, and AJ pitches in inbetween working during the week. She really is such a sweet, happy baby, she's a joy. We did have her two month appointment recently, and we had always planned for AJ to take her to this one since only one parent is allowed and AJ wanted to meet the doctor, but he may need to take her from now on, because she had her first round of vaccines and AJ said he had never seen her cry like that before and I can't handle seeing her cry like that! She was fine by the time she even got to the car after the shots but still, my poor baby!

She only ever looks at the lion and elephant!

Here's a live action of her going nuts on her kick piano

Our first night sleep training and our new bedtime routine,
including the bedtime story

Spending sometime outdoors in the backyard

A bath in the sink

Sometimes I can't get her to eat because she gets distracted and just entertains herself like this

I love how she looks when she's milkdrunk
and I still need to burp her

AJ sent me this picture while I was in the
car and they were still waiting for the shots waaah!

She discovered her hands recently

Khaleesi finally got some time with me. She's terrified
of Sophie so she doesn't often venture near unless I'm
alone, or, in this case, Sophie is sufficiently passed out

Naptime with my baby

Khaleesi recently discovered the boppy

...and she got way too comfortable

Such a happy baby! This was AJ's doing

This is how happy she is - she wakes me up in the morning by just being awake and happily looking around and enjoying her morning

Caught her in the baby "fencing" sleeping position.
Sorry it's creepy but our white noise machine also
allows a red light, which helps release melatonin and
make you sleepyyyyyy

Once again, way too comfortable

And that's basically our lives. Just hanging in there, enjoying our days with our family, counting down to better days ahead, and in this moment waiting to see if it'll be the Bills or the Chiefs who join the Buccaneers in the Super Bowl this year.

Sophie's Second Leap

Good morning (?) from our household. I've been up for so long it feels as though it should be late afternoon already. Sophie is in "leap 2" of development which means that she's more fussy, less sleepy and hungrier than usual. So pretty excited for this to be behind us soon.

I'm feeling a little better and more confident about being a mom and taking care of her and taking her on short small outings, which is nice, because previously I would sit home in fear when I was left alone with her, even for the smallest event. Progress!

Previous to all this though, we'd had such a happy baby, including when she turned 2 months on January 8!

You can't really see it in the photo,
but this onesie really brought out her
dark blue eyes!

Sorry in advance for the
nightmares you'll get from
this face swap!

I mean we never doubted she was AJ's child but
sometimes it shows through a lot!

Sophie Being Cute

Sophie Talking and Singing!

Then the leap came and the fussiness grew and our days looked more like this LOL

If you're thinking, why does she look
so upset? There's a 99.9% chance that
I was reading through Twitter at the
devastation ravaging our country in
the form of an insurrection that some
clowns still don't want to impeach for.
Sorry baby girl, mama's trying to make
it a better world for you despite this
nonsense...

We had to make an outing to South Coast Plaza, which we did quickly and safely, and realized it was her first time in public and where is she other than Tiffany's!

And then there was a pretty devastating Steeler's playoff game to close up their season. Papa was upset but at least Sophie looked cute!

Khaleesi enjoys the baby toys too...

It's not all bad tidings though, Sophie is growing and achieving more! Like discovering her hands and holding her neck up...

And that's all I have time for now!

Happy New Year

Welcome to 2021. It already feels better. I know that nothing has magically changed, but it feels nice leaving one whole year with the hope that this one could be just a little bit better. Plus, there will be a great sense of calm and relief come January 20 that we won't have experienced in four years, so that is a huge leg up!

And now I can post this photo that I've been working on since March, which sum up both mine and Sophie's 2020's...

We were able to spend our New Year's Eve at our friend's house. They are really strict about quarantining as well, especially because they live with their immuncompromised mother in law, so we really trust them.

We gave Sophie a bath before going and honestly, bathtime has become so much fun because she really likes it! She just relaxes and loves splashing her feet in the water and we like to just stand there and watch her chill out.

It was a pretty perfect NYE for this year, just a really nice dinner, hanging out and counting down to midnight. It was really cute though, because their three-year-old was obsessed with her and didn't want to leave her side, and she loved watching her eat and kept showing me her own nipples so she could feed the baby and kept begging her dad to come watch the baby eat hahaha! He came and sat next to us and kept his eyes on the TV and she kept saying "You're not looking at the baby eat!" it was super cute.

(For the record, after you have a baby, you sure do view your body differently. After being completely on display for the delivery, and having no shame in needing all the help in the world getting to the bathroom, using the bathroom, trying to manage all the blood and hemorrhoids, and needing help getting breastfeeding going, and then living with your boobs out 24/7 to feed the hungry baby... there's really no shame anymore - not that there should be shame! - but I swear, if it was all the same to everyone else, I would answer the door in the mesh granny panties and boobs hanging out and not have a care). Now tell me girls don't run the world!

We counted down to midnight and cheers'ed with some Moet Chandon, which made us want to watch the Moet Chandon SNL sketch and then went down a small rabbit hole of SNL sketches.

And that was our New Year's Eve.

Our 2021 has been off to a nice start though! It's always nice to have a happy baby...

No doubt she's AJ's little girl either...

And, take a seat boys. Guess who not only dominated in Maxout this NFL season, I had a completely immaculate season and shattered the previous record holder's points that was at about 500. And I'm ahead of second place by 157 points!

One more time for the people in the back this 2021... girls run the world!
