This past weekend was the first time we've felt sweater weather this fall (and good timing for the pumpkin patch considering it's supposed to get up to 91 this week) and our weekend was pretty greatly planned coincidentally.
We went to Ballast Point brewery on Saturday to celebrate cousin Tawny's birthday. It was such a great venue, I can't believe I had never been there before. It's along the marina and looks at Naples Island and the ocean, and boats would dock and come in and we could see cruise ships leaving from the Long Beach port. It's located in Seal Beach and think we mentioned that too much because Sophie kept asking to see the seals. We were able to distract her with the food though, obviously.
A plane passed just as we were going for a picture - photo cred of this one goes to Kathleen! |
On Sunday we visited the pumpkin patch, and it was such a nice change from when we went last year and it was so hot! This time it was perfect weather, and we got to be joined by Gangy and Grandpa Jim.

We went around the pumpkin patch and took a wagon ride...
This is my "why would you take a picture from this angle?!" face |
And got to see the barnyard animals.
I can't believe we brought her barefoot last year LOL But I do remember she wasn't walking so we didn't expect her to be anywhere other than her stroller or be held |
And we finished the evening with dinner at El Torito - Sophie did a pretty good job! A- I'd say. It was nice having such an eventful afternoon - we actually had to wake her from her nap to get ready and head out, then action packed hours, get home and take a bath and put her straight to bed. So much nicer than trying to entertain her mindlessly around the house.
Hope everyone has a great week.
