Mother's Day 2017

Last night we celebrated Mother's Day, with AJ and I taking our moms out to the Angels game. Friday night sounded great in theory but man is it hard to doing anything on a Friday night after a busy week! I had to take a power nap, overslept, and felt groggy for a few hours.

We made the mistake of driving (as opposed to walking since AJ's mom lives close enough to do so) and got stuck in massive stadium traffic, but we were all able to pound a Bud Light before walking into the stadium (and getting cooler backpack handouts!) and watching the Angels destroy the Detroit Tigers 7-0, including two home runs and watching good ol' Cameron Maybin deliver, as always!

With AJ being the all time star Olympian athlete in everything growing up, him and his mom were both really into watching the game, whereas me and my mom were more into doing a photoshoot with her crappy little hand lololol sorry not sorry.

We didn't get back to AJ's mom's place until after 11pm, and I slept in a lottttt today! AJ is off golfing, I'm doing some studying/working, and tonight is some KBBQ and karaoke for a birthday celebration! Yay!

Hot Aunt Alert

Oh, and it's me.

Also, Luca is cute too ;)

But seriously, he's adorable and his facial expressions are always so funny and when he screws up his face like he's going to cry, he gets all red and wrinkly and looks like an old man.

We even got some eye contact yesterday! But only for like 5 minutes and then he fell asleep. What a bum! :P

Cinco de Mayo

Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo. I don't really care. I'm getting over needing an excuse to drink, or needing to drink at every excuse, and really what else is Cinco de Mayo to most Caucasian Americans except that? But anyway, our friend decided to throw together a Cinco de Mayo party and IT. WAS. AWESOME!

She had great drinks served in cute little pottery cups, tacos, margaritas, La Loteria game (with jello shots!) and even a pinata filled with candy, alcohol shooters... and other stuff lololol.

AJ fell asleep and we tried to hide the pinatas head under a blanket where AJ was sleeping a la Godfather haha.

I also found a "Cone of Shame" from one of their games to put on Anana for a hot second haha (I was drunk, oops).

And lastly, our friends who moved to South Carolina had their first kid that night, a baby girl named Bryce, and we got to FaceTime with them and celebrate their Cinco de Mayo babayyyy!

And today is grandma's half birthday! She's officially 99 1/2! Wish her a happy half birthday today!

May the 4th

Last night we had dinner at Heather's with Tawny over so we could hang out with them and the baby. I also brought over my new letterboard so we could do a mini photo shoot with him.

Today is actually his due date. And I know everyone gets all into this Star Wars day stuff, but it's Audrey Hepburn's birthday, and when I was in New York, me and Ronnie used to have breakfast at Tiffany's on May 4th to celebrate her.

Icelandiversary

My weekend was divided in half. The first half was nonstop crazy cleaning on Saturday, to the point that my fingertips are still sore (I'm not joking) and the other half was fabulously relaxing. I got to see the fam and hang out with Luca...

...and then our friends came over for dinner for us to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of when we left for our Iceland adventure! I can't believe it's now been an entire year since then, so sad. We still had some leftover Iceland flag toothpicks from the trip that we busted out for our mutual commiseration...

Anana all meal long. Ha.

Then we played Cards Against Humanity, got Creamistry ice cream, and watched Blades of Glory (I'd never seen it - what a treat!). And a year ago today, this is what I was doing...

Wahhhhhh I want to be on vacation again!

Kitty Laundry

AJ and I got our new washing machine (FINALLY!) and omg, what a blessing. We have been GOING TO TOWN with laundry, and the past 2 days it's basically been a nonstop rotation of laundry, which means we've sorta been folding as available, and just putting them on the bartop, which is where we now find Khaleesi, all the time. Last night, we were watching Bill Nye Saves The World (love it!) while I was taking out laundry, and I know the kitty loves the warm clothes (or in this instance, pillowcases) so I just folded them and stacked them on top of her and she seemed to loveeee it.

It was sad when I was done and ready to put the pillowcases back, when I took them off of her she was very upset and meowing at me. Tough break, kitty! But she sure is cute.

LUCA ANDREW

I remember all the time growing up and my sisters and I would always argue about who had to have kids first, so that the rest of us could be aunts. Well I'm happy to say that I won that argument and I'm officially Aunty Kiki now!

Heather went in to be induced on Wednesday night, and I was next to my phone all day Thursday waiting for the word to go to the hospital, but everything was really slow. After work I went to my friend's place nearby the hospital to hang out until something was actually going to happen, and we got word on the planned C-section so I texted AJ and we met at the hospital.

When we got there, Heather had got taken back for the operation, my mom came and got us, and just when we walked into the suite where Justin's family was waiting, they announced that the baby had been born and that Justin had texted them a picture from the operating room. So this was the first glimpse of him!

Officially he was born April 26, 2017 at 8:15PM, 7lbs even and 20 inches long.

We hung out and waited until the new parents came back to the suite, and here's AJ trying to make the isolation robes look cool...

Then, Justin came in wheeling the baby, followed by Heather on her bed.

It was the most insanely surreal thing to experience a baby of your own blood! I'm not instinctively into babies, but it's my own nephew and it was so surreal! It's Heather's baby and she just had it, and seeing him for the first time was incredible!

We left shortly after to give them their bonding time, and AJ and I went to the cafe to eat, then we came back up to wait for our turn to go in and take turns holding him. While waiting down the hall we could occasionally hear him crying, which was sooooo weirdddd and amazing to hear his cries from down the hall. He's like a real little human!

I had today off work too so I got to go back to the hospital and hold Luca some more. He doesn't seem to cry too much, which is great haha. I'm still in complete shock and can't even believe that he's real and that he's my nephew!

I can't believe how much I love a baby now, I'm not a baby person. What an insane difference it makes when it's your own blood!
