Back to Riverside

This weekend (when I wasn't yet feeling so sick), AJ and I decided to keep our RSVPs for a University of California Education Abroad Program alumni reception brunch. The best part was that it was being held in Riverside... at the Riverside Art Museum aka our wedding venue!

It was really hot (and the traffic back home sucked!) but it was fun to go back there for the first time since we got married.

Where we had our first look

Where we got mawwied!
The event was actually celebrating the 50th anniversary of the UC-Ghana program, so there were a lot of Ghana alumni which was so neat to hear about their program and their times there.

After that I really wanted to see the recently unveiled (like last weekend fresh!) mosaic called Angela's Wings, put up in memorial of the Las Vegas shooting victims from October 1, 2017, one of whom (and maybe more?) was Angela from Riverside. It's so sweet and makes me love Riverside, but so sad for this country and what we've become and how can people be so blind that we need reform when we're the only country in the world where it happens like this?

After that I took Anana on a walk and I spotted this squirrel running amok with something double the size of itself.

Couldn't tell if it was some sort of thin cucumber or cactus arm or what, but the squirrel sure was cute.
