On Monday, Sophie turned one year old!! While I still can't believe it, the year did not fly by, and I'm not very sad seeing her get old or grow up, instead, I love it and it's such a joy. And what celebrations we had this year. We are so exhausted, and even though it was all worth it... yikes. She's definitely not getting parties like this every year!
Throwing the llama to the floor
Kinda glad these monthly photos are done... we couldn't get her to calm down and lay down ever anymore!
We had a party for her and made it French themed. And because of the year we've had, we had a lot of time to prepare and thought we'd get crafty and build a whole backdrop setting. Plus, I miss being crafty and wanted a project. I communicated my dream to AJ and together we put together the backdrop to Cafe Sophie.
Before the party started, we took Sophie out to enjoy the kiddie play area herself and she just loved it! She absolutely loves balls and being in a ball pit was a dream come true for her, and she did great on the other toys too.
The party was such a hit, we all had so much fun and were so happy with how it all turned out. It was just a shame we had to limit it with these lingering covid times and the size of our place. We said it felt like our wedding - so much fun, surrounded by people we love, and not enough time to spend with everyone! But it was for Sophie and she had a wonderful time.
I wish I got better pictures of these fabulous cookies that my coworker made for us
Pretty standard photo of these 3 lol
This face and expression is everything

Her joy when playing with balls is so cute it makes me want to cry
Us with our baby girl!
She cleaned up on gifts though! She received so many wonderful gifts - from books and giant bead mazes to cute clothes, adorable shoes, a balance bike, a real vacuum (she's obsessed with the vacuum), and even a beautiful framed star map from the day and time she was born. She is blessed!
On Monday, her actual birthday, we braved Disneyland, which was definitely interesting with a one year old (a one year old who won't nap that is) but it was magical to experience it with her, and we all saw Galaxy's Edge for the first time. Not eager to go back right about now, but we had a lovely time.

1st Visit AND Birthday!
Waiting in line for her first ride...
Alice in Wonderland!
I was nervous because it was loud and dark in there, but she did great! She had to sit "normal" like a big girl but loved it and watched the ride with fascination
Looking around in the Tiki Room (where she also loved to dance!)
The monkey cage on Casey Junior's train
King Arthur's Carousel
She was so angry that we wouldn't give her some of our coffees, and then when we did give her our cups, they were empty. She was frustrated, but she was also way too tired and cranky at this point LOL

Crashing hard in Tomorrowland
I am so relieved and happy about how everything turned out for her. Love you baby girl!
