I'm working from home today and I spent the morning cleaning up all the holiday decorations, including all the pine clippings which have made the home smell so good for so long!
Some years I can do it just fine, with no emotion, but this year I was really sad cleaning it up - our house felt so cozy and beautiful in the holiday décor. I think we need to start instituting some form of January holidays, whatever they might be, to help take the sting out of leaving the December holidays behind.
I do have a trip at the end of this month to look forward to though... just gotta get through these depressing post-holiday January days!
