Little Miss Sophie

Well, I have a baby now. I'm sure this reality will be reflected in the way I update this from now on (aka short, if ever, if this lifestyle all keeps up!)

I had a normal check-up on Friday, November 6, and due to dilation, effacement and blood pressure, my OB sent me over to labor and delivery to essentially deliver immediately! Talk about a whirlwind and mindgames. Labor and delivery was actually so busy, with no free rooms, and I wasn't in an immediate situation, so we all agreed that I would come back first thing in the morning. That was actually a nice little reprieve to wrap my head around the fact that baby girl was coming over a week early. We already had the nursery set up from the week before, so that was a relief.

AJ and I set off the next morning in the rain to go have a baby!

Things progressed so slowly, I was really enjoying just letting things unfold, and each new step set fear into my heart. It took me an hour to agree to let them break my water because I was so scared about the next step and speeding it up, and when I was told I was at 10 centimeters I think I panicked a little. But an hour later, the little lady was here!

Just chillin at this point

I bought AJ this kangaroo shirt for
dads that has been very handy!

So much dark hair!

I waited 9 months for this (thanks Tawny!)

We couldn't get Nannerz to look at the camera

AJ got her ready for game day! (And Steelers had
a great win too)

Post-bath. She wasn't a fan.

FYI, the middle name is Aurelia
(ore-RALE-ya) but we spelt it the
Lithuanian way with the J

...and that's the story all about how my life got turned flip upside down.
