Bomb.Com Sushi Lunch

However it's worked out, I've now been to 3 welcome lunches in my department, and everytime we go to Kitayama, and amazingly delicious sushi restaurant in Newport Beach. This past time, however, we got a mat room, so we had a room to ourselves with the table you sit on the floor around, take your shoes off, and look out over a beautiful zen garden. And the weather yesterday was truly sublime, so it made for a perfect experience, really.

After work I worked out, which I actually enjoyed (rare) and then I came home to a delivery from mah soul sista - baby pet masks! I have no idea what that means but look how cute!

International Women's Day

Happy International Women's Day. We have it amazing here in the U.S., but shit still happens. And it's not perfect here. Look at the wage gap, fluctuating women's rights, and especially bias to women's healthcare in the U.S. (Only developed country without paid maternity leave???? UNACCEPTABLE!) And this is a society that has it good (relatively speaking). At any rate, AJ, Anana and I are all wearing red today in support of it!

In other news, one of my pipe dreams came true and this past weekend, AJ and I bought a shoe dresser for me. It matches my Hemnes line dresser and is specifically for shoes. It looks so much classier, has cleared up space for us and just all around created a better flow in our bedroom!

And for no reason other than I am a crazy cat lady, here is a cute picture I took of Khaleesi. We can always hear critters very clearly scurrying across our wooden roof, and this was Khaleesi looking up at the sound.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a bomb.com work sushi lunch to attend!

Friday Funnn

Damn the Man, but Friday yesterday really sucked, work-wise. However, I did get some sweeeeeet pick-me-up perks.

First of all - MODEST MOUSE!!! Translation: I bought me and AJ tickets to see Modest Mouse in June. And not only that, but at the House of Blues - small venue - SO STOKED. They are a drop-everything-and-go band for me when they come to town, which has actually never really happened (at least that I knew about in time to buy tickets for) and the one time I saw them was at Coachella, when the people I was with her more interested in the Beer Garden so I was very conflicted and hated standing at the edge of the crowd during that show when I wanted to run into the center and enjoy it. So, this is giving me some motivation in life. Ha.

Secondly, I had had such a bad day I asked AJ if we could go out, so we met at Dave & Buster's for some beers and games, which was awesome, especially the DDR that AJ wouldn't sit and watch because he was too embarrassed of me and stood around the corner hahahaha! Also, we found a card with money on it and played like seven million games of SkeeBall. I know we probably should have tried to return it but what can I say, I had a horrible day and wasn't feeling very gracious and felt like the universe was just trying to help me out. What can I say, I'm human.

And now the craziest part of all on this wonderful Saturday morning as I have a coffee with Kahlua and a Bloody Mary next to me... I FOUND A FRIENDS EPISODE I'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!! Not sure how that is even possible, but... The One With The Cooking Class... season 8, episode 21... had never seen it before! So talk about a treat, a brand new Friends episode! And 10 days til my bday!

I was aware I might get into kitty-overload on my Instagram, which was why I created Khaleesi's own instagram, so I wouldn't annoy everyone (and myself!) with the barrage of photos. But no so on my bloggity blog apparently.

Three-Day Weekend

Well I had a three-day weekend recently and I know that can be a sore subject because not everyone gets off all of these frou-frou federal holidays. So if it makes you feel any better, it wasn't very crazy or eventful. There was that storm on Friday which was annoying but AJ and I passed it by going to all you can eat Korean with my coworker and her husband, and then doing basically nothing Saturday except making good on the Bloody Mary mix that I bought, and then I went to visit grandma.

On Sunday we celebrated AJ's birthday with his family over brunch and then took Anana to the dog beach since we were right there. It was pretty gross because there was trash everywhere (which I'm assuming and hoping the storm just blew up and not that people are usually that trashy on the beach) but it did give Anana more things to look at and sniff around at. Well, that and the seaweed.

We spent the evening catching up on movies we wanted to watch and making dinner. I felt great because I still got to sleep in another day but AJ actually had to go to work. He did manage to take these pictures of me and Khaleesi though. I have no recollection of this! I guess she only likes me when I'm unconscious...

Yesterday I had the place to myself since AJ worked, although I did get up early to make his lunch and listen to Ryan's Roses. Then I put on Friends and went back to sleep. I woke up and lounged, and worked on things, and then took Banana to the dog park. There were some cute puppies there... Banana included!

I was all off schedule and had slept so much  that I was up really late and then had a hard time sleeping. And that's the story of how I had 3 days to sleep in but woke up all blah and Monday-like on this Tuesday...

The Day After

Well, AJ's birthday was such a success I had to call out sick for the morning today and come in at noon. God I really am 30 lolololol.

After work we walked to the Triangle to meet up with our friends for AJ's birthday dinner. All you can eat sushi AND they had a special All you can drink Sapporo and sake for $12! We may or may not have done sake bombs, everyone sharing a memory of AJ, and AJ got free mochi.

Afterwards we went next door to the Tavern Bowl and played pool with pitchers of beer. AJ and I stumbled home past midnight and had a verrrrry hard time mobilizing today. The good news though is that now that his birthday is over we can all concentrate on me! Less than a month!

Today is AJ's birthday - yay! Why can't birthdays fall on the weekend though?

Last night ended up being super fun. When I told a friend our plans were to do laundry at his grandma's, she insisted that we come to their place and do laundry there instead. So we ended up having dinner together, playing games and planning travel. And by the way, AJ brought me home two beautiful bouquets of white roses and pink tulips and I put them together to be this one arrangement and I just love it! Can't wait for them all to blossom just a little bit more!

We got home late and I was too exhausted to do anything other than go to bed, so I had to get up early to decorate the place for AJ's birthday, lay out his gifts, and put on Birthday Song by 2 Chainz to wake him up (lololol). It's been a good day so far and sushi tonight! Mmmmm...
