Kitty Overload

I was aware I might get into kitty-overload on my Instagram, which was why I created Khaleesi's own instagram, so I wouldn't annoy everyone (and myself!) with the barrage of photos. But no so on my bloggity blog apparently.

Just wanted to show Khaleesi being kute...

Sooo happy to be with me O_o

And more photos from that lifestyle event in LA surfaced, although I still never did get the photobooth picture from the yoga pose phootbooth I took with AJ's sister. Guess it's lost in the interwebs for all of time and eternity...

That's me on the orange mat, maxin' and relaxin'

I'm going to happy hour with coworkers tonight and looking forward to it like you wouldn't believe...!

Three-Day Weekend

Well I had a three-day weekend recently and I know that can be a sore subject because not everyone gets off all of these frou-frou federal holidays. So if it makes you feel any better, it wasn't very crazy or eventful. There was that storm on Friday which was annoying but AJ and I passed it by going to all you can eat Korean with my coworker and her husband, and then doing basically nothing Saturday except making good on the Bloody Mary mix that I bought, and then I went to visit grandma.

On Sunday we celebrated AJ's birthday with his family over brunch and then took Anana to the dog beach since we were right there. It was pretty gross because there was trash everywhere (which I'm assuming and hoping the storm just blew up and not that people are usually that trashy on the beach) but it did give Anana more things to look at and sniff around at. Well, that and the seaweed.

We spent the evening catching up on movies we wanted to watch and making dinner. I felt great because I still got to sleep in another day but AJ actually had to go to work. He did manage to take these pictures of me and Khaleesi though. I have no recollection of this! I guess she only likes me when I'm unconscious...

Yesterday I had the place to myself since AJ worked, although I did get up early to make his lunch and listen to Ryan's Roses. Then I put on Friends and went back to sleep. I woke up and lounged, and worked on things, and then took Banana to the dog park. There were some cute puppies there... Banana included!

I was all off schedule and had slept so much  that I was up really late and then had a hard time sleeping. And that's the story of how I had 3 days to sleep in but woke up all blah and Monday-like on this Tuesday...

The Day After

Well, AJ's birthday was such a success I had to call out sick for the morning today and come in at noon. God I really am 30 lolololol.

After work we walked to the Triangle to meet up with our friends for AJ's birthday dinner. All you can eat sushi AND they had a special All you can drink Sapporo and sake for $12! We may or may not have done sake bombs, everyone sharing a memory of AJ, and AJ got free mochi.

Setting up to sake bomb

Afterwards we went next door to the Tavern Bowl and played pool with pitchers of beer. AJ and I stumbled home past midnight and had a verrrrry hard time mobilizing today. The good news though is that now that his birthday is over we can all concentrate on me! Less than a month!

Happy Birthday AJ!

Today is AJ's birthday - yay! Why can't birthdays fall on the weekend though?

Last night ended up being super fun. When I told a friend our plans were to do laundry at his grandma's, she insisted that we come to their place and do laundry there instead. So we ended up having dinner together, playing games and planning travel. And by the way, AJ brought me home two beautiful bouquets of white roses and pink tulips and I put them together to be this one arrangement and I just love it! Can't wait for them all to blossom just a little bit more!

We got home late and I was too exhausted to do anything other than go to bed, so I had to get up early to decorate the place for AJ's birthday, lay out his gifts, and put on Birthday Song by 2 Chainz to wake him up (lololol). It's been a good day so far and sushi tonight! Mmmmm...

Valentine's Day

I'm not a big fan of this holiday or anything, but I did get sucked into a Target dollar bin last week and bought a ton of useless stuff, including a heart-shaped cookie cutter which led to me buying sugar cookie dough to bake cookies for today (and the pre-made dough being too moist to shape very well and the hearts turning into blobs but whatever.)

I did enjoy being able to use my glitter frosting and sprinkles and all the rest, although I had to keep slapping AJ's hand away from them all.

On a separate note, Anana was really rambunctious last night and kept chasing Khaleesi out of the apartment for some reason. This was Khaleesi trying to come back in but cautiously trying to find out where Anana was first...

And today is AJ's last day being just 30 years old. What an old man!

Good Life Designed

I am still reeling from such a great day yesterday. AJ's sister is an event planner/coordinator, and lately she and her business partner have been working with the partner's mom to promote her company business. The mom used to be a huge IKEA exec (global HR head and president of IKEA North America at one time) who went through your typical midlife crisis, quit her job and reinvented herself in a way she liked. She now runs Good Life Designed, which is a resource center, support network, and empowers women. So AJ's sister and her partner envisioned this day where you LOOK GOOD, FEEL GOOD, DO GOOD. I only heard about it a few days ago and was sad when I couldn't find anyone to go to it with me. I told AJ's sister but she said her mom was going so we could go together. So we did! LOLOLOL.

First of all, when I showed up to AJ's mom's place for us to carpool to LA together, she had a surprise for me... AJ's Disneyland pass from 1991. What a treat!

Anyways, we hit the road early so we could make it to downtown LA's Art's District in time for the pre-event yoga session at 10am. We got there in time for free Skid Row Coffee, some morning muffins and danishes, and then an amazing yoga session with live guitar playing, a burning blue sky and this awesome graffiti wall as our backdrop.

That's me, front row, second from L. AJ's mom is first on the
left in the front row!

After yoga the event started and IT. WAS. AWESOME. Their whole motto, as I said, was LOOK GOOD FEEL GOOD DO GOOD. So we got to spend all day in this fabulous cozy warehouse with a fresh DJ, collecting free samples of everything, and events and activities everywhere. Free drybar hair styling. Free makeup. Free skin treatment. A color analysis of what colors you should wear (I am a soft autumn, by the way lololol) free detox drinks, commitment walls, placs to work on your vision board, free headshots, free burrito bowls, and the whole time, workshop lecture series going on about goal setting and designing the life you want etc etc. I loved every last bit of it.

It was so soothing being in this studio with the good music and the good vibes and just cutting out magazine pictures and sewing buttons onto our bags.

I have photoshop at work but I'm too busy to figure how to tame my hair in these pictures lolololol. Good thing these were just for fun lololol.

AJ's sister and I also did a strike-a-yoga-pose photobooth but it never got emailed to me womp womp!

Anyways it was a super fun day in downtown LA and I feel really re-energized and able to scrape by on this Monday!

Disney Princess

Lately it's occurred to me that I'm finally the Disney princess that I always wanted to be, because at nighttime, the animals follow me around, and that's really a dream come true.

Normally after dinner I'll go into the bedroom and AJ will stay in the living room, and the animals come into the bedroom with me, but since we all end up in the bedroom anyway, I figured they were ready to retire already like I was. The other night though, I stayed out in the living room with AJ, and Anana laid front of the couch where I was, and Khaleesi came up and laid on my lap. When I finally got up to go to bed, both of them got up with me and followed me into the bedroom and then settled into bed with me and it hit me that they were following me around and I felt like I wanted all the animals to follow me around so I could sing to them and cuddle with them. Oh what a world that would be.

Yesterday was a sucky work day for me, so when I got home, AJ made us dinner and drinks and drinks and drinks and we ended up drunk on the couch watching Netflix, which included French language stand-up comedy that was amazinggggg. Oh the things you discover when you're not sober!

Super Bowl & Summer

First of all, that Super Bowl was IN-SANEEEEEE and not in a good way! I am soooo overrrrrr the Patriots!! I was on cruise control the whole time, totally rooting for the Falcons, I can't believe it turned around the way it did! But, it did make for a great game in the end. Just soooo sad now. AJ and I didn't win any squares, but AJ did win the Fantasy Football season, and then he bet on the beer pong game going on and won another $100 so he gave me some of that cash lolololol sweet victory.

This was Khaleesi as we were running out the door. Sweet kitty!

Anana was a hit at the Super Bowl party. She just stayed near the food
In sadder news, last Thursday, AJ's family dog had to be put down. Summer was going to be 14 next month! It was really sad and even I miss her and it felt so sudden, even though she was very old and definitely on her last paw. Still very sad.

When we went to AJ's mom's house that evening to be with everyone, his sister was digging up pictures of Summer, which included pictures of baby Anana! She was just tooooo adorable as a puppy I can't handle it.

Miss you Summer girl! And that's (finally!) a wrap for football season. Til this fall... (sigh)
